I wanted to share one more photo from Megan and Chris’s wedding last Saturday. This is another shot from our brief jaunt to East 4th and Prospect. It was very chilly especially since Megan wore a sleeveless dress. But she said she was fine since Chris was her, “own personal space heater.” :)
I went to a fantastic seminar with Jasmine Star this past Tuesday and left challenged to identify those things which differentiate me from others in my field. So I thought about it. Yes I met my wife at the church which is still our home church today, I’m a dad of six kids, I’m an Apple freak, and an LOTR nerd. But what could I do to really set me apart? And then it came to me.
I’m excited to announce that for the 2011 season Cavanaugh Photography will be using Kodak Disc 4000 cameras exclusively for all weddings and portrait sessions! Here’s why:
Less bulk – without all those extra lenses and flashes we’ll be much more agile. We’ll be like photo ninjas, just without the throwing stars and super cool moves.
Film grain – I won’t need any of those fancy shmancy Photoshop actions to ad simulated film grain to our photos. This is as real as it gets. If film grain the size of golf balls is your thing, you’re in for a treat!
I takes “the best pictures” – at least that’s what all the little old ladies told me when I worked in a camera store 20 years ago, and with age comes wisdom. Right?
It’s a Kodak 4000 – 4000 = 2000 x 2. It’s gotta be awesome.
While investigating this my biggest hurdle was finding film. I found a seller in Russia. The film expired in 1996 but my supplier assured me that it’s been kept frozen for it’s entire life, (or at least for the last three months).
Look for photos from our “new” cameras in the coming months. Trust me. You won’t be able to miss them. ;)
Here’s another image from Megan and Chris’ weddings. The couple chose readings from each of these books for their ceremony as each was especially significant to them. I thought it would be fun to incorporate them into their ring shot.
This is another shot from Megan and Chris’ wedding this past Saturday. Renee took this photo while we were in an alleyway at East 4th and Prospect. We had a great time at their wedding and this pic is one of my favorites from the day!
Renee is one of our very talented photographers but last July she was a beautiful bride. She and Steve had their wedding and reception at the Sandusky Yacht Club. We took this photo on the boat docks just around dusk.
This is from Christina and Jason’s engagement session in NYC. After taking some pics in Central Park, we walked along West 72nd St looking for photo opportunities. I loved the brick and gas lamps in front of this uptown apartment building. This was a truly memorable session!
You can see more of their session here.
I took this photo last night at Megan and Chris’ wedding. They had their wedding and reception at Windows on the River. Megan and Chris were an awesome couple! It was a great day and this shot was a perfect ending!
I took this photo of the Bollin family at a park in Aurora. I love this little guy’s expression. It makes me smile every time I look at it.
I took this photo of Laurel and Geoff during their engagement session in Downtown Cleveland. They were both super comfortable in front of the camera and were willing to do just about anything I suggested. I loved photographing these guys! Definitely one of my top 5 all-time favorite sessions!
You can see more photos from this session here.
This shot is from Jennifer and Kevin’s engagement session. Huntington Beach is a great location and these guys were a blast to work with! I love my job! :)
